James graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours). He has a passion for assisting clients to overcome barriers set by injury, disease or disability through goal setting, equipment prescription and task-oriented rehabilitation. James has a specific interest in neurological conditions, particularly in stroke and upper limb rehabilitation post-stroke. He has a keen interest in providing innovative interventions to improve physical and cognitive functioning for people of all demographics. James’ goal is to provide effective rehab strategies and environmental modifications that enable his clients to achieve more productive, enriching participation in activities at home and within their communities. He loves to travel, cook for friends, and adventure in and around the Sunshine Coast’s hinterland region in his spare time.

Casey graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy (Honours). She is passionate about community care and enabling people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible whilst maintaining safety and independence. A strong focus on safe mobility, reducing falls risks and home modifications enable Casey to help her clients reach this goal. Casey is interested in pressure injury prevention, fatigue management, dementia, brain injury, and cognition rehabilitation. Casey studied Occupational Therapy as a mature aged student after running a successful business as a Personal Training and Massage Therapist. She prides herself on her holistic approach to healthcare which focuses on psychosocial wellness and collaboration with all care providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for her clients.

Jacob Payne

Jacob graduated from Griffith University in 2016 with a Masters of Physiotherapy following a Bachelors Degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2014.

He has spent most of his career working in private practice and sports physiotherapy, developing particular interests in musculoskeletal, post-operative and neurological rehabilitation. Jacob is highly motivated to help each patient reach their desired goals.

He has recently moved back to the Gold Coast, where he enjoys riding his motorbike, travelling and hiking, and spending the day at the beach.

Jai graduated from Griffith University in 2015 with a Master of Physiotherapy after gaining his Bachelor of Exercise Science in 2013.

Before joining the Sports and Spinal team, Jai has worked at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital since 2016 and has acquired a strong interest in neurological Physiotherapy. Jai has continued to strengthen his skills by completing a range of neurological specialised courses and workshops.

Jai has been a local to the Sunshine Coast since 2016, enjoying the beach, surf and exploring all that Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Jai’s professional desire is to optimize the quality of life for each of his patients, always ensuring he creates and tailors programs that address the patient’s goals, current functional ability and lifestyle to cater to their specific needs.

Lexi Ironside

General Physiotherapy

Following her passion for helping others achieve their optimal quality of life, Lexi completed her Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University in early 2016. In the years since, she has gained experience across many hospital wards, including inpatient and outpatient orthopaedics, cardiac and pain management programs, and surgical rehabilitation.

Lexi has transitioned to Community Care to help engage her clients and create lifelong health benefits through individualised treatment plans that provide lasting independence in the home.

When Lexi is not working, you will undoubtedly find her hiking in the great outdoors or enjoying the sunshine on her stand up paddleboard (trying to get those “core” muscles working!).

Michael is eager to ensure that each client achieves their goals and is keen to continue to develop his skills moving forward. Tom completed his studies, obtaining a qualification as a Remedial Massage Therapist (Advanced Rehab) and an additional Cert 4 in Allied Heath Assistant (Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy). Tom is also continuing his knowledge by studying for an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy to help his clients be the best they can be.

Tom has a passion for rehabilitation, Pre- and post-op care, Work Cover or NDIS treatment care plans. With a background in the trades, he understands getting back to work after injury or taking care of those aches and pains after hard work as soon as possible.

Her degree in Business assists her to ensure TRS and her admin team deliver the best to all. Emily Whitmore

Remedial Massage Therapist

Emily Whitmore graduated from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom in June 2012, achieving a first-class honours degree in Sports and Exercise Science. She then completed her Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Clinical Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy at the London School of Sports Massage, qualifying in August 2013. She is also a qualified therapist in advanced Dry Needling.

Since qualifying Emily has worked as a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist within Physiotherapy clinics in the United Kingdom, her clinical experience also includes working with British Triathlon at their base in Loughborough; this has involved travelling overseas to training camps and European and World Triathlon events, helping to prevent injury and facilitate recovery from training and competition. Emily also worked as the primary masseuse for the Loughborough Students Elite Rugby Union Team, competing in National League 1.

There are many ways to achieve balanced nutrition; Claudia makes sure that her patients are meeting their nutritional needs and fitting in with their lifestyle, family & friends and makes them feel great! Since graduating with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics, Claudia has worked as a sport and corporate dietitian in private practice. Her areas of interest include chronic disease management, gut health and weight management.

Casey is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) after completing a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of the Sunshine Coast. As an AEP, Casey truly believes that exercise IS the best medicine. Casey believes building rapport with our valued clients and providing a professional service builds a fantastic foundation and is the key to helping her clients achieve their goals. Casey is passionate about all areas of exercise physiology. However, he has developed a particular interest in oncology.

Kyeong McPherson

Paediatric Physiotherapist

Kyeong graduated from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and moved up to Sunshine Coast in 2005 looking for an adventure. Since graduating, Kyeong has worked in various clinic settings but found her passion in Paediatrics earlier on and has worked in this area for almost 15 years. Kyeong has spent 3 years working for the NHS in the UK, and 12 years for the Cerebral Palsy League, where she also held the Team Leader position for 2 years before joining the TRS family. Kyeong has experience in all paediatric diagnoses and presentations, especially in the disability sector, specialising in neurological rehabilitation and complex physical impairments.

Kyeong is holistic in her care and thrives on learning and evolving as a therapist to achieve the best outcome for our clients and their care providers. From the initial assessment, there must be a level of understanding and trust to build the relationship needed to work together with respect and positivity to achieve the goals of the client and their support team.

Kyeong is never far away from her family (husband, son, and fur-baby) away from work. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends exploring all that the sunshine coast has to offer!

Aileen Ripper

Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Aileen has a passion for supporting children to overcome barriers and reach their potential. In her twelve years since graduating from the University of Queensland, she has enjoyed working in a range of settings including hospitals and the community. Over the past decade, her work has primarily been with children and young adults living with physical and neurological disabilities, as well as other developmental conditions. Aileen understands the importance of nurturing the unique strengths and interests of each individual and uses a range of interventions with a focus on promoting function and independence through goal-directed, play-based therapies; assistive technology; and environmental modification. Aileen believes that collaboration with the child, their family, and other health professionals is key to maximising participation in life, and independence on the journey to adulthood.

Nicholas graduated from QUT in 2015. Nicholas previously worked in Far North Queensland and on the Sunshine Coast; he relocated to the Gold Coast in 2021 with his wonderful wife and daughter. On the weekends, he loves fishing, camping and visiting the beautiful beaches all along the Coast. Nicholas has a particular interest in complex caseloads, including diabetes, paediatrics and walking gait function, although enjoying all aspects of Podiatry. Callum enjoys seeing all manner of injuries and conditions and has completed advanced courses in the management of pelvic/low back pain and the injured shoulder. He is trained in Western Acupuncture and Dry Needling.
Away from work, Callum enjoys playing Rugby in the local A-grade competition is a huge Sunshine Coast Lightning fan. Originally hailing from Charters Towers, North Queensland, Callum likes to escape the hustle and bustle by heading out bush or up the coast.

Sarah Brown

Dietitian

Sarah is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, completing her Bachelor of Dietetics at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Sarah enjoys meeting and working with new people and has a passion for supporting people achieve their goals through a client-centred approach, encouraging sustainable eating behaviours and using evidence-based practice. Sarah’s special interest areas include weight management, oncology, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and gastrointestinal health.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys roller skating, spending time with family and friends and taking her two German Shepards for a walk.

Luke Rogers

Podiatrist

Luke is an experienced podiatrist who has been operating in private practice for over 14 years, with 2 years of rural experience with Queensland Health. Luke volunteered for several years with the Queensland Podiatry Board and was appointed president in 2017, providing insight and experience at an industry body level.
This combination of experience and study has led him to gain a strong reputation as a caring and trustworthy practitioner.
Luke has comprehensive experience in podiatry and enjoys all aspects, from mechanical assessment and sports injuries to ingrown nails and plantar warts. Luke just
likes fixing feet problems. In addition to his Bachelor of Science (Podiatry) at QUT, Luke also has a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science, which talks to his interest in sport-related injury management and prevention.
Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, Luke has an inherent love for sports, camping and the outdoors. He is a keen golfer and enjoys helping to coach his children’s soccer teams.

Jaime Siu

Allied Health Assistant

Originally from the Gold Coast, Jaime worked for 6 years as an admin and practice manager in a podiatry/osteopathy clinic while studying a Bachelor of Journalism and Psychology at UQ. She soon discovered a passion for helping the disability community while supporting special needs children within the education system. Jaime began to pursue a role in the disability and community health industry as an Allied Health Assistant to assist community and in-home clients with physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy and OT (daily living skills and assistive technology).

Working closely with the prescribing professional, Jaime loves the allied health industry and combining all the knowledge from the various fields to create meaningful and functional sessions for her clients to see the best outcome possible. She is continuing her journey into allied health by currently undertaking a Masters of OT.

Avi Shrestha

Physiotherapist

Avi graduated from the University of Queensland in 2016. Before joining Total Rehab Solutions, Avi spent his early career in rural practice in both the private and public sectors.

Clinically, Avi enjoys practising as a generalist and helping clients in all areas of physiotherapy with more complex care needs. Avi aspires to maintain a consistent practice in all areas of physiotherapy while providing education and mentorship to fellow clinicians and students.

In his spare time, Avi enjoys karaoke, documentaries about crustaceans, and spending time with his fur babies JOJO (German Shepherd) and GIGI (Golden Retriever).
