The Board Meeting!

Back in March this year some of our TRS team members attended the Sunshine Coast-based initiative, The Board Meeting Surf Charity 🏄

The Board Meeting was started by a group of surfers looking to help Sunshine Coast kids with disabilities through a variety of surf-related events. Run completely by a dedicated group of volunteers and supported by the local business and surfing communities, the charity raises much-needed funds for families who have fallen through the cracks of Government support, are doing it extremely tough financially and have children with needs.
This year’s board meeting charity dinner was for Allaura who sees our TRS paediatric team being treated by Paediatric Physio, Kyeong and Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Aileen. Allaura has Cerebral Palsy, Quadriplegia which severely limits her movement, posture and global development. She is an amazing little girl who has already mastered her new power chair which will arrive soon and give her so much more freedom! Allaura’s Mum, Maddie and big brother Isaac are committed to giving her the best & happiest life possible.

The goal was to get Allaura and her family a wheelchair vehicle so that they can transport Allaura and her chair to medical appointments, therapy sessions and social outings. The total amount raised was $45,000 and the Board Meeting has already found a suitable vehicle for Allaura! It was a fantastic night and we were stoked to be surrounded by such inspiring and giving people.
We are thrilled to be have been part of the event and love and appreciate all the amazing work that the Board Meeting do!
